When Ashleigh and Malik asked me asked me to be their wedding photographer for their elopement in the Lake Quinault Rainforest, to say I was excited would be an understatement. I was thrilled! Lake Quinault is the exact spot Charlie and I tied the knot almost five years ago, and it has been special to us ever since.
Since elopements don’t really have any decor, Ashleigh put a lot of thought into her wedding attire and the result was a gorgeous ensemble of jewel toned flowers atop a two piece dress. Their first look was right outside the Maple Glade Ranger Station and they chose the nearby trail for their elopement ceremony to take place. They hiked from the trail to a nearby hillside for their vows while Charlie and I (and their videographers) quietly climbed over fallen trees and stumps to document the ceremony. Oh, and did I mention the ceremony took place at sunrise?
After their vows we hiked around on the trail for a bit taking portraits and letting them soak in that newly married excitement.
